FAQs about Reliant Energy
Is a deposit required to sign up with Reliant Energy?
Reliant Energy is one of many electricity providers that require a deposit when setting up service. Customers with a credit score lower than Reliant’s threshold may be charged a deposit. Enter your ZIP code on this page and filter plan features for “all credit approved” to explore no-deposit options in your area.
Will Reliant Energy charge me a cancellation fee?
If you cancel any fixed-rate Reliant Energy plan before your contract expires, you’ll incur an early termination fee (ETF). Reliant Energy charges $150 for 12-month plans and $295 for plans with longer contracts. If you cancel your contract because you’re moving outside of Reliant’s service area, you won’t have to pay an ETF as long as you submit proof of your address change.
Who owns Reliant Energy?
